The meals I received seem to fit within my macros by looking at the nutrition levels, however, upon closer inspection of the ingredients, I found that they are not all "real". I was specifically shocked to see things like maltodextrin and dextrose in a lot of the meals. These are classic cheating mechanisms used by most big companies to "technically" label foods diet, light, low-sugar, etc. While they don't have to be included in carb/sugar counts on the packaging, they are sugar substitutes and the body processes them in the same way it does sugar. Also known as Hidden Carbs, these ingredients cause blood sugar levels to spike and will knock the body right out of ketosis or prevent it from getting there in the first place. As someone looking for an option that is less processed, more natural and will allow my body to maintain a real keotgenic state, these are not for me and are very misleading.

I started by purchasing a few of these meals through a local nutrition shop before I committed to consuming my freezer with “frozen dinners”. These are GREAT meals! The process that is used to freeze the food leaves crisp veggies and makes the meal feel as though it was just prepared. My husband and love them! I highly recommend!!
