Dorothy M. Shirnyl, RND, is a licensed Registered Nutritionist-Dietitian and health writer with expertise in public health nutrition. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics and a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in Public Health Nutrition from Silliman University, one of the Philippines' top universities. She is licensed by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) of the Philippines — a government-regulated credential requiring a bachelor's degree and national licensure exam, comparable to the RD credential in the United States.
Dorothy brings diverse clinical and educational experience to her writing. She served as an Instructor at Negros Oriental State University, where she taught food technology students courses in food safety, sanitation, hygiene, and food service. She has also worked as a Food Safety Officer for YLO Corporation, overseeing food safety protocols across multiple restaurant chains, and as a clinical Nutritionist-Dietitian.
