EveryPlate wins on the receipt: $6.99 a serving at full price, plus a shipping fee on every box. Clean Eatz Kitchen wins on everything after the receipt. Our meals are cooked, run about $7.56 to $9.00 each on our Weight Loss plan with free shipping, heat in a few minutes and keep up to 12 months frozen, with no subscription. EveryPlate recipes take 15 to 65 minutes to cook.
These two services sell the same promise, dinner without the grocery run, in opposite formats. EveryPlate is a meal kit. You get pre-portioned ingredients and a recipe card, and you cook. We cook the meal, freeze it, and you heat it.
So the real question is whether you will cook three or more nights a week. Here are the numbers.
EveryPlate vs Clean Eatz Kitchen verdict
Who wins for most people
If you landed here after a pile of EveryPlate reviews, here is the short version. EveryPlate is built to be the cheapest home cooking box. Its own plans page calls it America's lowest-priced home cooking box, and its FAQ says the aim is value and convenience, "not make you a chef."
Clean Eatz Kitchen is built to remove the cooking. Every meal arrives chef-cooked, portioned and frozen, with the calories and macros on the label. There is nothing to cook and nothing to cancel.
EveryPlate takes cost. We take prep time and flexibility. Protein and macros come out even.
How we compared EveryPlate meals & Clean Eatz Kitchen
Published numbers only
Clean Eatz Kitchen publishes this comparison of its own meals with EveryPlate. Prices, nutrition and ordering terms come from each company's website as of October 2026.
We did not run a taste test or cook the kits. Every EveryPlate fact below is listed on EveryPlate's site in October 2026: its plans page, weekly menu, recipe pages and terms. For nutrition, we read all 34 dinners on its menu for the week of October 31 and our 32 current meals. We scored four things:
- Cost per serving, with shipping, and what it costs per meal you actually eat
- Prep time and the work left for you
- Calories and protein across the whole menu, not one hero dish
- Ordering terms: subscription, cutoffs, skips and where each one ships
Clean Eatz Kitchen & EveryPlate side by side
Ten rows, one grid
EveryPlate meals and ours are both priced per serving, and both list nutrition per serving, which makes a fair grid easy. A check shows who comes out ahead on that row.
We gave EveryPlate the rows it earns. Nobody in this matchup beats a meal kit on sticker price or on the fun of cooking a new recipe.

Clean Eatz Kitchen pros & cons
Clean Eatz Kitchen
Best for no cookingWe are a prepared meal delivery service. A chef cooks every meal, our registered dietitian builds the plans, and the meals ship frozen on dry ice. An EveryPlate meal kit asks for about 30 minutes and a clean pan. Ours asks for a microwave. If you're weighing the two formats for a weight goal, our Meal kits vs prepared meals guide walks through it.
No recipe card, no pan, no weekly cutoff. Dinner is already done.
Pros
- No subscription. Order when the freezer runs low and skip when it doesn't.
- Free shipping on every meal plan, with no threshold.
- About $9.00 a meal on 10 Weight Loss meals and about $7.56 a meal on 30.
- Up to 12 months in the freezer, so a big order isn't on a clock.
- Calories, protein, carbs, fat and allergens on every meal.
- Goal plans: Weight Loss, High Protein, High Fiber, GLP-1 and Breakfast.
Cons
- Higher sticker price than a meal kit's $6.99 serving.
- Meals come in sets of 10 (6 on High Protein), so you need freezer space.
- Ships only to the 48 contiguous states.
EveryPlate pros & cons
EveryPlate
Best for budget cooksEveryPlate is a weekly meal kit. You pick a box for 2, 4 or 6 people and 3, 4 or 5 recipes a week, then choose dinners from the EveryPlate menu. The week we checked had 34. Its Calorie Smart dinners are 650 calories or less, and EveryPlate says plainly that it's "a menu of choices, not a health program."
Each recipe page lists the pantry items you supply, usually salt, pepper, cooking oil and butter. Small costs, but yours.
Pros
- $6.99 a serving at full price, and a $2.99 a meal first box on a 2-person, 3-recipe plan.
- 34 dinners to choose from in the week we checked, with a new menu every week.
- Nutrition per serving on every recipe page.
- Skip a week, pause or cancel online, with no long-term commitment.
- The 2-person box doubles as dinner plus tomorrow's lunch for one person.
Cons
- Weekly auto-renew. Changes lock five days before delivery, or the box ships and you pay.
- A shipping fee on every delivery.
- 15 to 65 minutes of cooking per dinner, plus your own pantry staples.
- Median dinner is 760 calories, and 21 of 34 dinners topped 1,000mg sodium.
EveryPlate vs Clean Eatz Kitchen category breakdown
Four categories, four calls
We used EveryPlate's full prices, not its first-box deal, because the deal ends after one box and the subscription renews at the regular price.
EveryPlate takes cost. We take prep time and flexibility. Protein and macros split down the middle.
EveryPlate cost vs cost per ready meal
Winner: EveryPlateEveryPlate cost is its whole pitch. A 3-recipe box for 4 people is $83.88, or $6.99 a serving. Its shipping fee on that box was $11.99, which lifts the real price to about $7.99 a serving. Our meals run about $9.00 each on 10 Weight Loss meals and about $7.56 on 30, shipped free.
EveryPlate still wins this one. Its full price per serving is lower, its monthly bill is lower in the example below, and its first box is a bargain. But per serving, the gap is small. Per hour, it isn't. A kit is only cheap if you cook it. Our guide to Eating healthy when you hate cooking is honest about that part.
Quick cost example
A family of four eating three dinners a week for four weeks needs 48 servings. Four EveryPlate boxes at $83.88 plus $11.99 shipping come to $383.48, about $7.99 a serving, plus pantry staples and roughly 6 hours at the stove. Our 30 and 20 meal Weight Loss plans come to $392.25 for 50 meals, about $7.85 each, shipped free and already cooked.
Prep time & cooking
Winner: Clean Eatz KitchenEveryPlate's recipe pages list 15 to 65 minutes per dinner, with a median of 30. That's quick for cooking from scratch, and you still chop, sear, plate and wash up.
Our meals heat in a few minutes in the microwave. On a late night, that gap often decides dinner or takeout.
Protein & macros
Result: Even matchEveryPlate serves more protein on the plate. Across the 34 dinners we read, the median was 36g, and 24 of them hit 30g or more. Our current menu has a median of 31.5g, with 20 of 32 meals at 30g or more.
The calories tell the other half. EveryPlate's median dinner is 760 calories, and the range runs to 1,250. Ours is 410, with a range of 250 to 630, so you get more protein per calorie. Both companies list nutrition per serving, and the FDA Nutrition Facts label guide shows how to read those panels. A meal kit's numbers also assume you use the butter and oil the card calls for.
Subscription & flexibility
Winner: Clean Eatz KitchenEveryPlate's terms say the subscription renews weekly at the regular price until you skip, pause or cancel. Menu and delivery changes lock five days before your delivery day. Miss that cutoff and you are charged and the box ships. It's easy to skip, but the default is a box every week.
We have no default. There is no subscription, so nothing renews, and our frozen meals keep up to 12 months. The FDA notes that food kept at 0 F stays safe indefinitely, and freezer times are about quality. EveryPlate's fresh ingredients are packed to stay cool until about 8 PM the day after delivery, then they belong in your fridge.
