Clean Eatz Kitchen vs Territory Foods: Chef-Made Meals Head to Head

About this comparison: This comparison is published by Clean Eatz Kitchen, one of the two services compared. Prices and ordering terms come from each company's website; see How we compared them.

The verdict

Clean Eatz Kitchen wins for most people. Meal plans start at $8.99 a meal with free shipping nationwide, no subscription, and meals that keep up to 12 months in the freezer. Territory Foods entrees ran about $11.54 to $20.99 on the menu we opened, most often $16.79, arrive fresh with a 3-day fridge window, and only deliver in select metro areas.

Both services send chef-cooked, dietitian-backed meals you heat and eat. The difference is how they reach you and what you pay for it.

We built this comparison from each company's published menus, prices, nutrition and ordering terms. No taste test, just the numbers.

Territory Foods is a fresh, local-chef service. Chefs and restaurants in a handful of metro areas cook the meals, which arrive on Sunday and Wednesday with about 3 days of fridge life.

Clean Eatz Kitchen, based in Wilmington, NC, flash-freezes every meal and ships it anywhere in the country on dry ice. You order once, with no subscription, and the meals keep in your freezer for up to 12 months.

On price, flexibility and reach, Clean Eatz Kitchen is the clear pick. A 10-meal Weight Loss Meal Plan is $89.95, about $9.00 a meal, shipped free. Territory's most common entree price is $16.79, before any delivery fee.

Territory Foods earns its win on special diets. Its whole menu is built without gluten or dairy, with paleo, Whole30, keto friendly and vegan filters on top. If that is why you are shopping, read the diet section first.

How we compared them

Clean Eatz Kitchen publishes this comparison of its own meals with Territory Foods. Prices, nutrition and ordering terms come from each company's website as of October 2026. Check both sites for current details before you buy.

Territory meal delivery prices change by dish and region, so we opened the live menu for the week of October 28 (96 items, including family-style sides) and read every entree price. Our prices come from our meal plan pages on the same day.

We scored the same things as our Clean Eatz Kitchen vs CookUnity comparison, so the two posts read the same way:

  • Price per meal on a realistic weekly order, fees included
  • Ordering terms: subscription, minimums, deadlines
  • Diet coverage: paleo, Whole30, keto, gluten free, plant based and goal plans
  • Shelf life and reach: fresh vs frozen, where it ships
  • Nutrition transparency on every meal

Side-by-side comparison

Both services sell healthy prepared meals with the macros printed on the label, so the real differences are price, format and where you live.

Clean Eatz Kitchen

Best overall

Clean Eatz Kitchen is prepared meal delivery without the weekly commitment. Pick a goal plan or build your own box, pay once, and reorder when the freezer runs low. Every meal is chef-cooked, portion-controlled and built by a registered dietitian.

Our Nutrition Info page lists calories, protein, carbs, fiber, fat, sodium and allergens for every meal, and our guide to Read frozen meal nutrition labels shows what to look for.

Frozen meal delivery is not a compromise here. It is the reason the price, the free shipping and the 12-month shelf life all work.

Pros

  • From $8.99 a meal, with up to 20% off when you order 30 meals
  • Free shipping on every meal plan, nationwide
  • No subscription, no deadline, no cancellation call
  • Meals keep up to 12 months in the freezer
  • Goal plans for weight loss, protein, fiber, GLP-1 and breakfast

Cons

  • Meals arrive frozen, so you need freezer space
  • Plans sell in 10-meal increments (6 on the High Protein plan)
  • Not certified gluten free. Meals are made on shared equipment, so we do not recommend them for celiac disease

Territory Foods

Best for strict diets

Any honest Territory Foods review has to start with the food model. Local chefs and small restaurants cook the meals in their own kitchens, a dietitian team sets the rules, and the menu changes weekly with 35 or more options.

The rules are strict: no gluten, dairy, refined sugar, nitrates, chemical preservatives or artificial colors. Territory says its meals are not certified organic but are Real Food Certified.

Pros

  • Entire menu built without gluten or dairy, plus paleo, Whole30, keto friendly and vegan filters
  • Fresh meals from local chefs, ready in about 2 to 3 minutes
  • One-time orders allowed, and subscribers save 5%
  • Calories, carbs, protein and fat printed on every menu card

Cons

  • Entrees ran about $11.54 to $20.99 on the menu we opened, most often $16.79, before any delivery fee
  • Only delivers in select metro areas
  • Meals are good for 3 days after delivery unless you freeze them yourself
  • Order deadline is Thursday at 11:59 PM for the following week

Category breakdown

A single winner hides the trade-offs, so here are the four categories people ask about: cost, special diets, fresh vs frozen and format.

Territory meals and Clean Eatz Kitchen meals are both real food cooked by real chefs. They split on cost, reach and shelf life.

Price & value per meal

Winner: Clean Eatz Kitchen

Territory Foods cost depends on the dish. On the October 28 menu, entrees ran from $11.54 for steel cut oats or lentil stew to $20.99 for salmon, with 21 of 70 entrees at $16.79. Territory's FAQ says some meals start at $10. Its menu and FAQ do not list a delivery fee.

Our meal plans start at $8.99 a meal. The Weight Loss Meal Plan is $89.95 for 10 meals and $226.75 for 30, about $7.56 a meal. The High Protein Meal Plan is $63.00 for 6, about $10.50 a meal with 2 extra ounces of meat. Shipping is free on all of them.

Paleo & gluten free meal delivery options

Winner: Territory Foods

If you need gluten free meal delivery, Territory Foods is the stronger pick. Every meal on its menu is made without gluten or dairy, and its paleo meal delivery and Whole30 filters sit on top of that base. It is the category Territory wins outright.

Clean Eatz Kitchen lists allergens for every meal and has a gluten-free filter, but our meals are made on shared equipment, so we do not recommend them for celiac disease. If gluten is a medical issue, read our guide to Vetting gluten-free meal delivery before you order anywhere.

For goal-based eating the picture flips. Our Weight Loss, High Protein, High Fiber and GLP-1 plans are built around calories and protein, and the Build A Meal Plan protein filter sorts meals into 20 to 30 g, 31 to 40 g and 41 g plus tiers.

Frozen meal delivery vs fresh shipping

Winner: Clean Eatz Kitchen

Territory meals arrive fresh on Sunday or Wednesday and are good for 3 days after delivery. You can freeze what you will not eat in time, but then you are doing the freezing yourself, days after the meal was cooked.

Clean Eatz Kitchen meals are flash-frozen right after cooking, ship by UPS Ground on dry ice in 2 to 3 business days, and keep up to 12 months in your freezer. They heat in under 5 minutes. The CDC's advice is to keep your freezer at 0 F and reheat to 165 F.

Reach matters too. Territory delivers in the DC metro, New York City, Philadelphia, the Bay Area, Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Southern California and parts of the East Coast. We ship nationwide.

Taste & chef-made format

Tie

We did not run a taste test, so we will not score one. Territory's meals come from local chefs and restaurants, so the menu in Houston is not the menu in Philadelphia. Ours come from one published menu, so the Basic Beef & Sweet Potatoes you order in Oregon is the one you order in Maine.

Protein density is close. Territory's October 28 entrees ran from 6 g to 54 g of protein, with 44 of 70 at 30 g or more. Our summer 2026 menu ran from 23 g to 55 g, median 31.5 g, with 20 of 36 at 30 g or more. Both menus center on the 20 to 40 g per meal range the International Society of Sports Nutrition suggests for active adults.

Quick cost example

Ten entrees at Territory's most common price of $16.79 come to $167.90 before any delivery fee. Ten Clean Eatz Kitchen Weight Loss meals are $89.95 shipped. That is about $78 a week, or roughly $310 a month.

Key takeaways

  • Clean Eatz Kitchen is cheaper by roughly $78 on a 10-meal week, and shipping is free
  • Clean Eatz Kitchen ships nationwide and keeps 12 months frozen. Territory serves select metros with 3 days of fridge life
  • Territory Foods wins on strict ingredient rules: gluten and dairy free menu, paleo, Whole30 and keto friendly filters
  • Neither requires a subscription, but only Clean Eatz Kitchen skips the weekly deadline

Who should choose which

The honest question is whether you are buying a diet rule or a goal. If strict paleo, Whole30 meal delivery or a gluten and dairy free menu is the point, and Territory delivers to you, pay the premium. If the point is hitting your calories and protein without cooking, you can do that for a lot less.

Price is the biggest gap, but shelf life is the one people underrate. Meals that keep for a year absorb a sick day or a travel week without a single wasted container.
